In 2017, Sandscribe welcome Sharing International’s team of filmmakers and experts to Ethiopia for a two-week summer intensive. Sandscribe Student Film Fest in US

On July 29, 2017, Sandscribe is holding its first film festival in the US to celebrate emerging filmmakers in Ethiopia. The one-day festival will take place at the University of Maryland. This event  is open to the public and will feature afternoon workshops, followed by an evening of screenings, remarks, awards, and more. Sandscribe’s goal is to encourage aspiring filmmakers, foster a vibrant film industry in Ethiopia, and promote artistic collaboration that spans our continents. Dr. Steven Thomas in Addis on Fulbright

Sandscribe was delighted to see Dr. Steven Thomas return to Addis Ababa. Dr. Thomas, a professor of literature and film at Wagner College in New York, is a member of Sandscribe’s guest faculty. This fall, he received a Fulbright scholarship to teach film analysis and research the Ethiopian film industry.
