July Film Festival & Workshop Details

On Saturday, June 29, film industry professionals will travel to Washington DC to participate in the Sandscribe Student Film Festival & Workshop – our first event in the United States. Workshop topics include directing, production, acting, screenwriting and more (see below). Both events are open to the public.

Workshop Leaders & Topics

Kenny Saylors (Production & Budgeting) and Kyle Saylors (Directing & Cinematography). The Saylor Brothers have directed and produced a wide range of projects from FOX NFL promos, MTV and BET music videos with Master P and Snoop Dogg, to the documentary Veil of Tears. Their work has been featured on Fox News, BBC, Time magazine, NY Times, LA Times, Variety, Hollywood Reporter, and Christianity Today, just to name a few. Read more at Saylors Brothers.

Susan Isaacs (Screenwriting) is an actor, writer and professor. Her many credits include: Planes Trains & Automobiles, Scrooged; Seinfeld, VEEP; recurring on Parks & Recreation and Black-ish spinoff, College-ish (Fall 2017). Her memoir, Angry Conversations With God: A Snarky But Authentic Spiritual Memoir was named a top book of the year by Publisher’s Weekly and Relevant magazine.  More at susaneisaacs.com

Cameron Arnett (Acting) is an award-winning actor and talk show host. TV credits include: Miami Vice, Star Trek: The Next Generation, China Beach, Doogie Howser MD. Vic Costello (Pre-Production & Directing) is a Professor of Communications at Elon University. Costello recently traveled to Ethiopia to lead a ten-day intensive of classroom instruction and field production for Sandscribe’s summer program. BJ Arnett (Costume Design, Modeling) is a professor at Clark University and a familiar face to Atlanta TV viewers. She has worked as a news anchor, entertainment & lifestyle reporter, and host for GPTV, 11Alive News and TV 69.
