Mentorship Program

Sandscribe is excited to announce its new mentorship program! Grace Jackson and Josh Penn Soskin are husband-and-wife filmmakers and  founders of House Blend Media, a boutique film and commercial production company based in Los Angeles.  Inspired by what Sandscribe is doing, they rounded up a number of their filmmaker colleagues and pitched the idea of mentoring students in Addis. And so the mentorship program was born.

The 10-week program pairs a mentor (a working filmmaker in the US) with a Sandscribe student in Addis, to help them make a short film. Mentors and mentees connect once a week via Skype and keep in touch via email. Each mentee is in charge of a team of six The goal of the program is to help Sandscribe students make outstanding short films which will be accepted to film festivals around the world, and will ultimately help the students build their careers as filmmakers.
